Join us in our mission to turn waste into something wonderful, paving the way for a greener, more responsible world.
The Material

Biodegradable and cruelty-free, Lestanin gives overlooked crop residues a second life through thoughtful design and material innovation.

From field to products
Not all alternative leathers are made the same. Lestanin begins with agricultural waste from local crops, transformed through five carefully developed steps into a versatile material for shoes, bags, sandals and everyday essentials — all made in Pagoh, Malaysia.

Lestanin
Three collections, one sheet of material
The products speak for the material. Before committing to a full roll of Lestanin, brands can explore its texture, quality and versatility through finished pieces — from bags and footwear to other everyday essentials.
A collection of bags designed for every occasion, from everyday essentials to statement pieces for special moments. Each piece combines thoughtful design with versatile style, and arrives in an organic cotton dust bag.
From lace-ups and loafers to sneakers and sandals, each pair is crafted with Lestanin uppers and a leather-lined footbed, available in European sizes 40 to 44. Every pair comes in its own box, ready to be worn and kept.
Diaries, card holders and lanyards for organisations that would rather hand over something made from Malaysian agricultural waste than another moulded plastic set.

Two ways to work with Lestanin
Agricultural waste holds value beyond the field. By bringing fibre extraction directly to pineapple and banana farming communities, Bambusoideae helps turn crop residues into valuable raw materials. The company supplies the machinery, trains local operators and purchases the extracted fibre through contract production.
It is a circular approach that creates new income opportunities for rural communities, reduces agricultural waste burning and supports local production of sustainable leather alternatives. This initiative aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, promoting more efficient resource use and sustainable production practices.
