STRENGTH OF LEATHER, SOUL OF NATURE.
Kulit Lestari journey began with a simple idea: to create materials that are both functional and environmentally responsible.
Inspired by the abundance of natural resources such as pineapple leaves and banana fibers, we explored innovative ways to transform agricultural waste into a sustainable leather alternative. This initiative not only reduces waste but also introduces a new approach to eco-conscious product design.
Through experimentation, research and creativity, we developed a material that balances durability, flexibility and sustainability, forming the foundation of our products today.
THE BEGINNING OF KULIT LESTARI
Our journey started with curiosity and a passion for sustainable innovation.
We began experimenting with natural fibres to explore their potential as a leather alternative. What started as a small project gradually evolved into a meaningful mission — to create kulit lestari that supports both creativity and environmental responsibility.
Through continuous testing, prototyping and improvement, we refined our material and design approach, bringing us closer to turning our idea into real products.
FROM IDEA TO INNOVATION
As our idea developed, we began sharing our innovation through pitching platforms and innovation competitions.
Our project was recognised as a finalist in Innovathon, where we had the opportunity to present our sustainable material concept to industry experts and innovation panels. This experience helped us refine our vision and strengthened our commitment to sustainable product development.
MEDIA CAPTURE
Our innovation has also received media recognition through coverage on Astro Awani as well as several online news platforms.
These media features provided an opportunity to showcase our sustainable material innovation and share our vision of transforming natural resources into responsible products.
The exposure further motivates us to continue developing kulit lestari and contributing to a more sustainable future through design and innovation.
